1. Information We Collect
SkunkPlatform collects only the information necessary to provide authentication, moderation, platform functionality, and security systems.
- Username
- Email Address
- Birth Date
- Password (securely hashed and never stored in plain text)
We may also temporarily process technical and security-related information, including IP address, browser/device information, login activity, and CAPTCHA verification results for anti-abuse and security purposes.
SkunkPlatform does not currently support direct monetary transactions, and payment information is not collected by the platform.
2. Account Moderation
SkunkPlatform may apply moderation actions to protect users, maintain platform integrity, and enforce platform policies.
- Deactivation: Applied when suspicious, compromised, or unsafe activity is detected.
- Deletion: Applied after severe or repeated violations where recovery is not possible.
- Strike System: Violations may result in warnings and escalating moderation strikes.
- Temporary or Permanent Ban: Applied depending on violation severity and repeated abuse.
- Suspension: Restricts access to posting, messaging, forums, or profile updates.
- Content Restriction: Certain features or content may require users to meet age requirements.
3. Data Storage
SkunkPlatform uses modern cloud infrastructure services, including:
- Firebase Authentication for SPA (SkunkPlatform Account)
- Firebase Realtime Database
- Cloud Firestore
- Netlify hosting infrastructure
Data is stored and protected using industry-standard security practices.
4. Security & Verification
SkunkPlatform uses automated systems and security measures to reduce spam, bots, abuse, and unauthorized activity.
- Verification: Email confirmation, CAPTCHA systems, and internal verification checks
- Activity Protection: Monitoring of login activity and suspicious behavior
- Security Levels: Accounts may receive different protection measures depending on risk analysis
5. SkunkPlatform Account (SPA)
SPA (SkunkPlatform Account) is the unified account system used across SkunkPlatform services.
- Replaces the legacy SkunkPlatform Account system (deprecated in 2024)
- Designed for improved security, scalability, and cross-service integration
SPAD (SkunkPlatform Account Data) is securely stored using industry-standard protection systems.
6. OAuth & Permissions
SkunkPlatform provides OAuth-based authentication systems for secure third-party access.
Available OAuth Scopes
- spa.profile — Access basic profile information
- spa.forums — Read forum interactions and posts
- spa.identifier — Access the account UID identifier
OAuth Limitations
- No access is granted beyond approved scopes
- OAuth access may be revoked at any time
- SkunkPlatform OAuth does not currently implement OpenID Connect (OIDC)
7. Anti-Abuse Policy
SkunkPlatform prohibits malicious or automated activity that attempts to bypass platform protections or abuse systems.

- Spam, harassment, or abusive behavior
- Attempts to exploit APIs, services, or platform systems
- Unauthorized access attempts or account compromise activity

9. Third-Party Services
SkunkPlatform may use trusted third-party services required for hosting, authentication, analytics, security, and platform operations.

Third-party services process information only as necessary to perform their platform-related functions.
10. Cookies & Local Storage
SkunkPlatform may use cookies, local storage, authentication tokens, and similar technologies to maintain sessions, improve security, and remember platform preferences.
11. User Rights
- Request access to stored account data
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of account data
- Request account deactivation
Requests may require identity verification and may be processed within a reasonable timeframe.
12. Minimum Age Requirement
You must be at least 13 years old to create or use a SkunkPlatform account.
- General platform access requires users to be 13 years or older.
- Restricted or mature content may require users to be 16+ or 18+ depending on the content classification.
- Users who attempt to bypass age restrictions or provide false age information may face moderation actions, including restrictions, suspensions, or account termination.
Accounts identified as belonging to users under 13 years old may be restricted or removed.
SkunkPlatform is not directed toward children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years old.
13. Data Retention
Account and moderation data may be retained for a limited period after account deletion requests for legal, security, abuse-prevention, or operational purposes.
14. Policy Updates
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. Continued use of SkunkPlatform services after updates implies acceptance of the revised policy.
